Anna Kate's Gifts and Monogramming is a very special place.
The cream colored 1950''s brick house on the corner of Sanders and Brightleaf beckons many with its bright pink and zebra striped sign.
"didn't that used to be?"
This story begins with a grandmother's gifted sewing machine to
a Chapel Hill Graduate with a heart of gold, who loved to sew. After making the children's Christmas Stockings she realized she didn't know how to embroider their names on top.
"hmmm"
What's a girl to do, but learn how. And how she did, so beautifully, she took orders night and day, moonlighting out of her sleepy high-tech job. Nights and weekends filled with designs and colorful threading, everywhere.
Then, the pretty lady who owned the red brick house on the corner, went to heaven, leaving a window opened.
The red brick turned cream, the hardwoods restored, walls came down, ceilings painted, chandeliers hung, and doors swung wide welcoming neighbors strolling by.
Sixteen years later with roots running deep and shrubbery revealing buds and bloom, this trusted shop in the sweet, small town, brings gifts aplenty.
With bountiful baby attire, children's ensembles, ladies' couture, and a dash for gents, all are poised to present the perfect gift,
anytime.
Welcome to this world of magic, sit on this porch and spill a spell.
Ponder possibilities.
Need a dragon, a flower, a name or initials on a blanket, a tee, a cuff, collar, or elephant's ear?
"aahhh, YES!"
